Hi, I’m Justin, the founder of Korjin.

The reason why I launched Korjin was quite simple: we live in the modern age of burnout. I was feeling it myself - juggling endless work, stress, fatigue, inflammation, etc... and through that experience, I reconnected with Korean ginseng as a source of restorative strength. When I tried real Korean ginseng, not the overpriced, diluted products that flood the market today, I felt a truly remarkable difference in terms of vitality, skin health, circulation... and wanted to share this amazing root with the world - thus, Korjin was born.

Why Black Ginseng?

The answer is quite simple: the transformation process from raw to black ginseng unlocks rare ginsenosides, the active compounds in ginseng responsible for the benefits, and enhanced absorption to the gut microbiome. 

When a ginseng root is first harvested, it's whitish in color. At this stage, it contains a high water content (≈ 70%), is extremely perishable, and generally has lower ginsenoside activity.

To preserve and activate the root, it is steamed & dried once, transforming it from white ginseng to red ginseng. This process stabilizes the ginsenoside content and activates standard compounds such as Rg1, Rb1, Rb3. Red ginseng is traditionally and most commonly used for daily, long-term vitality support.

At Korjin, we go a step further. When red ginseng is repeatedly steamed & dried (up to 9x), it becomes black ginseng. Through this process, the original ginsenosides transform into even rarer, more bioavailable forms (Rg3, Rk1, Rg5) which are associated with stronger physiological effects and improved absorption. 

Thus, it is now considered the 'gold standard' for high-quality Korean ginseng.
